Paleo Sweet "Pastry" Shells...

Paleo Sweet "Pastry" Tart Shells!!!

Remember that on my blog my recipes will be manly paleo recipes. So, don't confuse them with the standard sugar filled, gluten carrying, dairy products that your used to. They may taste a little different, look a little different but they are healthy eating at its best!

Ingredients...

1.5 cups of almond meal
12 medium dried dates
1 egg-white

 Ingredients...

Process...

Place all ingredient into a food processor, and blend until dates are well "minced".

Your tart "pastry" should be ready to roll into a ball and look like this!

 Roll your "pastry" out...

I used my mini tart case's as a guide to cut them out...
If they happen to break while your making them just grab a little bit of your pastry and mold it back in. This pastry is very "mold-able" .

Mine came out like this...
(don't forget to grease your case's)

Here they are already to bake...

Depending on what your going to do with them is how you will cook them.

1. If you wanted to fill them with cold ingredients. Par-bake them at 180 Celsius for 10-12 minutes depending on your oven and how toasted you would like them.

2. If you were adding lets say, lemon curd and were topping them with meringue. I would only par-bake them for around 8-10 minutes at 180 Celsius. Due to the fact that, you will be baking the meringue again, and don't want an over cooked tart shell.

3. This mix can also make large tart shells same mix, and same process. Just to a large tart tin. Times will vary...

The sky's the limit for these little beauty's, Enjoy!
